Port Forwarding
is defined as a type of feature in D-Link Routers which closely allow devices
on the internet to access all the services provided by users through their
network on a specific port number. Different types of services have different
port numbers as said by D-Link router support professionals. So, for example, if a web server is using a port
number 80 and a FTP server is using a port number 21 and on the other hand if you
wish to have devices outside the network to use web server then it is must to open

Steps to configure

Step 1: Web browser on the PC

Open and get access to a web browser from the PC
device which is directly connected to the network.
Step 2: Access the link

Go to the official D-Link router link or any
official IP address of the D-Link
Step 3: Login details

Enter the username as well as password when you
are prompted for it as suggested by D-Link router technical support. Default
username will be an Admin and be careful that there is no default password, so,
one have to the password field as a blank. Click on the “Login’ button to
continue further.
Step 4: Manual set-up

Go to the Manual Setup” section and then tap
on the “ADVANCED” icon.

Advanced Port Forwarding rules can then be
easily found on the left side panel.

Enter all the required details for the service
such as its name, IP address, port number etc.
Step 5: DHCP
client

If you see that the computer is well connected
to the router as a DHCP client then a proper selection is to be made with the
name of the computer from the drop down menu list.

Click on the “<<” button to
automatically get all IP address field populated
·
After entering all the essential details, users
are supposed to carefully click on the “Save Settings” button which is located on
the topmost section of the page to save the settings.

You have now got your “Port Forwarding”
feature completed on your D-Link Router.
